2019 has been the year that some people met the love of their life.
But for others it has been a year of heartbreak, and a year which saw them returning to the world of dating after a long break.
Despite lots of new dating apps popping up, Tinder is still a firm favourite for many, so we’ve taken a look back at how people have been swiping over the last 12 months.

According to research by the company, Glastonbury, the London Marathon, veganism and Meghan Markle were all popular discussion points, along with Fleabag and Love Island.
The language of love has also been changing, with singletons saying real, lit, and woke a lot more.
There has been a big increase in the number of people using Tinder in Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool – so singletons who are struggling with the talent in their area might consider a road trip.

2019 saw a huge increase in the use of the ‘facepalm’ emoji.
300million emojis were used in bios alone this year, the use of this particular one was up an astonishing 41 per cent.
And it’s hardly surprising in a year of Brexit (or lack of) and controversial Game of Thrones endings.
