Trial date set for last of 4 men accused of UMass dorm rape

The last man accused of raping a University of Massachusetts student in her dorm room in 2012 now has a trial date.

A Hampshire Superior Court judge ordered Wednesday that the trial of 20-year-old Caleb Womack, of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, will begin on Nov. 16.

Womack is the last of the four men to be tried on charges of raping a student in her Amherst dorm room while she was incapacitated by drugs and alcohol. Emmanuel Bile Jr., Justin King and Adam Liccardi, all of Pittsfield, have all been convicted and sentenced to state prison.

Womack has maintained that he never had sex with the woman and has pleaded not guilty to aggravated rape.

The defense is seeking a change of venue and to delay the trial until December.
