Trial date set for Crawley man charged with rape


A Crawley man accused of rape will stand for trial next June.

Sam Memarian-Lane, 50, of Ringwood Close, Furnace Green, appeared at Lewes Crown Court today (Friday August 28).

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said his trial had been set to start on June 6 2016.

He had indicated not guilty pleas to four counts of raping a woman aged 16 or more in Crawley.

The trial was estimated to last four days.
