Two SIs charged over filming, circulating obscene video | #Cheating | #Cheater | #marriage

According to the case dockets, Suman is a drug addict and has long been engaged in an extramarital affair with a female SI.

A female sub-inspector (SI) of police in Rajshahi has sued her husband, who is also a policeman, and a co-worker over filming, editing and circulating some intimate moments of her conjugal life.

Stationed at the Criminal Investigation Department of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, the victim, 35, filed the case against SI Obaidul Kabir Suman and SI Poly Akter under the Digital Security Act 2018 at Rajshahi Cyber Tribunal on Wednesday.

Suman is now working at the Bomb Disposal Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police while Sumi is at Nawabganj police station in Dhaka.

The judge of the tribunal, Ziaur Rahman, taking the case into cognizance, ordered the police to submit their findings by July 7.

According to the case dockets, Suman is a drug addict and has long been engaged in an extramarital affair with Poly.

“Suman had been torturing me both physically and mentally for dowry ever since our marriage in 2016. He developed extramarital relations with Poly and had been repeatedly asking me to quit my job,” the victim mentioned in the case.

“Due to the situation, I tried and managed to get transferred to Rajshahi,” she added.

However, the decision did not prove wise as Suman allegedly continued to harass her online and over the phone.

Suman, she said, using YouTube and social media kept on publicising and circulating photos and videos of hers.

Suman has even been making indecent comments on her on Facebook, the case statement reads, adding that Suman had also resorted to insulting her family online.

The plaintiff also mentioned in the case that Suman had been using her Facebook account illegally.

Talking to Dhaka Tribune, she said: “I had already filed a case against Suman for torturing me, which is still sub judice. After shifting to Rajshahi, I had lodged a general diary too.”

Dubbing Suman as a druggie, she said that he had recorded some intimate moments they shared together, which he edited and circulated online.

“He (Suman) replaced his face with the one of another man in the photos and videos to stigmatise and socially harass me,” she said.

Suman did not respond to phone calls by this newspaper.

The plaintiff’s lawyer Mokhlesur Rahman Swapan said the tribunal had ordered Rajpara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Majharul Islam to submit a report by July 7.

However, Majhar claimed that he was yet to receive any court order in this regard.

“So, I don’t know about the case, but proper measures will be taken once the papers needed are in hand,” he said.
