Just in time for this week’s snowfall, a Nashville-based lawn care app is launching in Cincinnati to connect homeowners with “snow removal professionals.”
GreenPal calls itself an “Uber-like” snow removal service because it allows homeowners to search pre-screened professionals based on their individual snow removal needs and a specific date. Pros bid on the job using “Google street and aerial images and any other lawn details the homeowner provides.” The owners then pick who they want to work with. Each pro comes with ratings, reviews and their own price tailored to your job. (It’s really more like snow-removal Tinder than Uber.)
GreenPal stresses that the app is perfect for a pandemic: It’s COVID-friendly because you never have to come face-to-face with your provider. And once the service is complete, the snow pro will take a time-stamped photo of their completed work and you can pay them via the app; no cash.
GreenPal also says that more than 30% of their customers are over the age of 60 — the “demographic is the most susceptible to contracting COVID-19 and falling fatally ill from it.”
“After successfully launching in 200 other markets, we are excited to help homeowners in Cincinnati find reliable, safe, and local snow removal,” said GreenPal co-founder Gene Caballero. The company also operates lawn care and snow services in places like Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando. Los Angeles, Miami and more.
