Una Healy reveals she tried Zoom dating over lockdown | #bumble | #tinder | #pof | #onlinedating

Una Healy has revealed that she tried her hand at Zoom dating during lockdown but it didn’t work out.

he Tipperary native sat down for dinner with a mystery man through her computer screen last year. However, she said that chatting online wasn’t the same as meeting someone in person, and the pair went their separate ways.

Speaking to RSVP Live, she said: “I did one Zoom date about a year ago – we actually sat down and had dinner with each other through the computer screen!

“It was so weird! Like, how weird is that! It was funny, but you know that’s not real… it’s not reality.

“Even talking to somebody on an app, or texting them, you need to meet them in person. You can’t tell if you actually have chemistry with somebody by texting them, you have to be face to face.

“It can be a false illusion that you get on great by text, and think you have a great thing going, but then you meet them and there’s nothing there! And it’s awkward; there is no way to get out of if you are on a walk or something.”

Una was previously married to rugby star Ben Foden but the couple split up in 2018 after six years of marriage.

They share two children together – Aoife Belle (9) and Tadhg (6).

Una recently swapped life in the UK for the comforts of home, moving back to Tipperary with the kids for the summer months.

The Saturdays singer shared that she is loving spending some time in her native county and added that the kids are having a ball in Ireland.

“It is definitely a change; in the UK, we were in the countryside, and everything was far away, even to get a bottle of milk,” Una said.

“But now I am back in Thurles and we are really conveniently located in the centre of the town. I can walk to all the shops, and the kids are going to the same school I went to!

“The kids are loving it – Aoife has started football and Tadhg started hurling and football, and they have made new friends which is so lovely.”
