Woman agrees to move 9000 miles for Scots Tinder date before being cruelly dumped | #tinder | #pof

A brave businesswoman has told how her world fell apart after her ‘Mr Right’ dumped her just two weeks before she was due to move to Scotland.

Stephanie Gorton quit her job, gave up her flat and had even shipped some of her belongings across the world after deciding to set up a new home with her partner.

The 27-year-old first met her boyfriend, who has not been named, on Tinder while he was travelling around her native country.

The 27-year-old fell head over heels in love with her Scottish beau

They dated long distance with her jetting around the world to visit him as he continued his travels.

The pair decided to set up a home together in Scotland and had even discussed the names of their future children – prompting Stephanie to leave her life in Perth in 2017.

But just four weeks before she was due to fly, the mystery man went quiet before dropping the bombshell on her two weeks later, Mamamia reports.

She said: “In those four weeks I was always trying to chase him up… I was even contacting his mum.

“In hindsight, there were red flags all the way through. It wasn’t like it was the perfect relationship, there were trust issues… but I adored him.

Steph discovered her boyfriend had been lying to her about seeing other girls

“I thought it was love, and love ‘wasn’t supposed to be easy but you fight for it’. That was my mentality.”

Stephanie decided to look into it further, but it was like her “heart and gut already knew”.

When it turned out her man was actually spending a lot of time with a girl from South America.

Eventually he called her two weeks before the flight to drop the bombshell on her.

The man said: “Steph it’s just too hard, it shouldn’t be this hard. If it’s hard now, it’s going to be even harder later.

“You’re going to come over and have no friends. You’ll be relying on me and I am not in a good place financially [right now].

“Let’s just take a step back and give it a bit more time.”

After carrying out more digging, Stephanie discovered her boyfriend had been spending a lot of time with a South American girl.

Steph set up her own business after her heart break

She also found that he had been lying about other girls that he had been seeing and travelling with.

A mortified Stephanie went back to her old job but was mortified to face her colleagues.

She explained ‘The worst part was, tail between my legs, going back to my job and to all the people who knew that I was supposed to be moving to Scotland in two weeks.

“I was deeply ashamed.”

Stephanie decided to learn from her heartbreak and to turn her life around before deciding to set up her own workshops on the weekends after trying a flower arranging class.

Nine months later, she quit her job and worked full-time on her startup business, House of Hobby.

Now months later, she’s had 14 staff running out of three locations doing 10 weekly workshops.

She then ended up selling her hobby business for a six-figure sum and is now earning “five times more” on her second.

And it’s even turned around for Stephanie in the love department as she met a fella called Tim who she’s happily been with since.

She’s glad she never got on that plane as she credits hitting rock bottom for finding herself.
