Music collectors could be sitting on thousands of pounds worth of vinyl – with some valued at more than £5,000.

Carrington Dean, Scotland’s debt specialist, used eBay purchasing data to reveal how much popular records have been auctioned off for in the last six months.

It originally took the number one place in the charts for 30 weeks, but the popularity of the Beatles’ 1963 pressing of Please Please Me doesn’t appear to be waning, with it once again taking the top spot, being bought by a fan for £5,100.

David Bowie and Pink Floyd also proved popular, while the only album made post-millennia to make it into the top 10 was Beyonce’s 2016 boxset How To Make Lemonade.
