The Government is not issuing $6,000 grants for those who worked between 2010 and 2021.
This, from the Labour Ministry, which has denied any involvement in the distribution of any such grants following the circulation of a WhatsApp message purporting same.
The Ministry said this is fake news.
In an advisory the Ministry noted: “This false message which states that Government is issuing $6,000 Grants for those who worked between 2010 and 2021 is NOT TRUE and is NOT affiliated with the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Labour does not issue grants, however its mandate focuses on the provision of decent work, the facilitation of industrial peace and, the provision of employment opportunities through on-the-job training and job placements.”
The Ministry advised the public not to share the post or the accompanying link.
