The
South African Police Service recently released a statement that details a new
WhatsApp scam.

The
scam involves a person claiming that they sent you a six digit code by mistake.
They will then ask you to send them that number.
The
police say that if you send the scammers that code you will be at risk of
having your WhatsApp account hacked.

message can come in the form of: “Hello, I’m sorry I sent you a six-digit code
by SMS by mistake. Can you transfer it to me. It’s urgent.”
